Hello all,
I'm not exactly an audiophile but I do have some music that I occasionally like to play on my PC whilst I'm working. Some of my collection is in WMA format (my cheapo MP3 player won't play .ogg files so I am stuck with .wma or .mp3).
Although I like Amarok I have a low-spec PC so it takes about a week to launch so I tend to prefer Rhythmbox. The trouble is Rhythmbox won't play the WMAs (and I am NOT talking about DRM protected ones). Amarok plays them fine. Mplayer plays them fine. Xine plays them fine - it's just Rhythmbox - my music player of choice - that won't...
The trouble I guess lies with its back-end - GStreamer. Now I am running FC5 and I have yum-installed every single GStreamer package in both the FC5 Extra and the Livna repositories (except the devel packages) and still it won't work.
I have the following modules / plugins:
Code:
[root@ArthurDent test]# rpm -qa | grep gstream
gstreamer-plugins-ugly-0.10.2-1.lvn5
gstreamer08-plugins-extra-video-0.8.11-5.lvn5
gstreamer-plugins-good-0.10.2-1
gstreamer-tools-0.10.4-1
gstreamer-plugins-base-0.10.5-1
gstreamer08-plugins-0.8.12-5.fc5
gstreamer08-plugins-extra-audio-0.8.11-5.lvn5
gstreamer08-plugins-extra-dvd-0.8.11-5.lvn5
gstreamer-0.10.4-1
gstreamer08-0.8.12-5.fc5
[root@ArthurDent test]#
Can I get Rhythmbox / Gstreamer to play .wma files?
Thanks in advance...
Mark
