WLAN and Ethernet
Hi there,
I've installed Debian on my notebook with an internal ethernet-adapter an a cisco pcmcia-wireless lan card. Everything really worked fine (I thought). The WLan-Card works. But not the ethernet. After having played around with some settings I managed it to work in my private subnet. But still the ethernet-card refuses to accept a dhcp-IP from my router. By the way when using ethernet the WLAN-card is not in ther notebook! aaahm Kernel is...2.4.19-xfs thanks a lot Toasti |
Ähhhm, ok...got it fixed myself ;-)

Just in case anyone else out there is having this same problem, could post what you did to fix it? Thanks!:D

well i figured out that eth0 got no IP and wasn't up, so i've set its IP to 0.0.0.0
ifconfig eth0 up started it and it took the dhcp-IP. after that i had to add a route to the default gateway an the interface worked ;-) |
On behalf of others in the future searching for this issue--thank you.:)
