wireless ubuntu 11.04


i have a dynamode wireless usb not recognised in the wireless section, although under usb listing it shows as a marvel item, i am completely new to ubuntu and am using it on my laptop (an old Samsung)i have windows xp home as other op system where all works fine, a little newbie silver surfer help would be appreciated to configure the wireless usb device

You should find them through synaptic, have you enabled multiverse and universe repositories?

hi Forgive my ignorance.
on my laptop with ubuntu i am unable to access the internet. i am doing so on my desktop pc.
and as stated on my first post i am a newbie with ubuntu and am lost as to how install/download these packages.
please explain the following (You should find them through synaptic, have you enabled multiverse and universe repositories?)
once again sorry for my ignorance

Ok,can you plug in a network cable in your laptop? Or, download the files through your desktop pc and then copy them to a USB pen drive or maybe burn a CD?

Btw, did you get a CD with drivers for your wireless USB?

Good, cause you need the drivers later on after you have installed the necessay downloaded files.
