Wireless Lan internet trouble with Atheros 5005G on Fedora 8

Hello all, I have just installed Fedora 8 on my laptop and am unable to connect to the internet via my built in wireless. The model is an Atheros 5005G and i can only find the windows drivers.

I followed some guidelines online using ndiswrapper which got rid of the error message i was getting and allowed the Wlan to become active. Unfortunately i can still not connect to the internet.

Any Help will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Ben

I believe madwifi has the linux firmware and drivers that you need. For the Atheros 5005 wireless cards.

I have also looked at that but i could not get them to work. I followed the instructions of using the ¨make¨ command to compile the drivers but it did not work.

Could you give me some details on what i may be doing wrong.

Thanx again
Ben

I have not used but I can not get my BCM4306 to work I was told to use atheros 5005 with madwifi basically plug and play. When googled configure madwifi for fedora found this.

look at madwifi.org seems to be a nice walk thru

I am sure there is more info on this matter this seems to be a hot topic with Fedora.
