wireless connectivity issues in Fedora 17

I have just installed fedora 17 on an external hdd via e-sata - the O/S comes up beautifully - the OS see's my at&t router which is a 2wire model - my internal wireless card is a:

Realteck RTL8188CE Wireless Lan 802.11 PCI-E NIC

Fedora prompts me for the pwd which I enter however it fails to connect am I doing something wrong -? What steps should I follow to resolve this issue - note my internal wireless adapter RealTeck 8188CE model see's the external at&t router it's just no packets are exchanged between the two

Have you tried to make connection using a handset?
When you will try to connect to router using handset, it will ask for password, if the connection is not established, it means, router is not configured properly.
If you can access the internet through handset, it means your card is not able to make connection with router, it doesn't mean your card is damaged. It might be you have not configured it properly.

Although the router company provides assistance and they do not leave you in middle of the problem.
Have you asked for the help?

Take a look here too.

Yes my smart phone will connect just fine to the router - what's more the routers comes on briefly with no connection or bits being transferred & keeps prompting me for the pwd to the wireless router - furthermore in etc/sysconfig/network the router properties how up just fine

I figured out the issue - The Realteck RTL8188CE NIC came with a Toshiba Satellite L675 which is a couple of years old - Reackteck does not provide Linux drivers for kernels beyond 2.6.24 - the Linux kernel in Fedora 17 is version is 3.3.4 - hence lights out - let this be a lesson to everyone on the limitations of consumer products -
