Wireless configuration
 
Hello there, i have a mandriva distro, im having problems with my wirelss intel pro-100 4965. I used to get it working well until i tried to used with ndsiwrapper for WPA authentication. now i dont have either of them, isnt working anymore, can anyone help with this?

Hi,

Mandriva distro, which one? What kernel version are you running (if you don't know, just type uname -a in a command prompt). Look at dmesg (dmesg in a command prompt) and look if there is anything suspicious. Try uninstalling/blacklisting ndiswrapper/the native driver (iwl4965?). Check your configuration files.

Try scanning for wireless networks when you know you should see one (iwlist scan), if you see one, you just need to configure properly.

If you want to try a different driver, the other drivers must be removed or blacklisted. There should be only one driver trying to communicate with the wireless NIC. If you have both drivers loaded, that will be at least one problem you need to correct.

thks, i really appreciate your help, but your time. i removed the listed drivers and i got the ndis working for a while, anyway im going to try this time the kubuntu hardy heron. see you guys around here.
