Wireless and ethernet not working in newly installed Linux Mint

Hi all,

I recently installed Linux Mint 13 in my new Lenovo Edge E430 laptop and can't get wireless or ethernet to working. It shows the available networks but doesn't connect. Here is some additional information

$lspci | grep Ethernet
0c:00.0 Ethernet Controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 07)

$lspci | grep WiFi
03:00.0 Network Controller Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd RTL8188CE 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapater (rev 07)

$lsmod | grep r81*
r8168 244911 0

I tried searching on internet for known driver issues but nothing helped. I would really appreciate any help from you guys to get my laptop working. I am new to Linux, so I will appreciate if anyone can walk me through the steps involved.

Thanks in advance!

http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=80757 This is for the wired connection.

When you search for mint also use ubuntu as a search term. All of the ubuntu stuff would be the same.
