check for package manager and search for rar. Winrar seem to be windows application as name suggests?

To extract rar archives, you can use the "unrar" tool. It's command line, but most GUI archivers can use it as a backend.

In other words, use the software installer in the menu to get unrar (or the terminal command su -c "yum install unrar". Then you can click on the .rar file in Nautilus and File-roller will unpack it for you.

7zip is a good tool to deal with almost all compression. Go to their site if they are providing the rpm package.
may be you can install through yum..Search the yum repository....
I think x-archiver is also good

If you just want to unarchive RAR files, then I recommend p7zip (7z). It's also great for zip files and most other formats.

If you need to create RAR files, then use the aforementioned rar.

If you still need WinRAR for some reason (hint: you don't), then run it in Wine.
