Wine not opening applications.

Would someone please explain to me in plain English how to use Wine? I have already used it to install Adobe Photoshop Elements under the directory /home/max/.wine/fake_windows/program files/adobe photoshop elements . What am I supposed to do after that? The .exe file doesn't run automatically.

Have you tried typing wine ~/.wine/fake_windows/progra*/*photoshop*/*Elements.exe?

i assume you installed wine via rpm?

i suggest removing that rpm and installing via source
rmp -e rpmname.rpm

download the latest source from www.winehq.com; extract it and in a terminal (right click on the desktop and select new terminal)
cd wine-20040309
./tools/wineinstall

just follow the installer (compilation takes about an hour)

run wine notepad to ensure wine works
