Wine - Multiping and ping plotter show 100% loss

I am new to linux and to running programs in wine. I was able to install wine in Centos 5.2 from the rpmforge repository and install Multiping and ping plotter under wine. However when I run these programs and try to ping targets with these programs they show 100% loss. Has anyone been able to successfully run these programs in Wine? Any help would be much appreciated.

Multiping is listed in the Wine application database as "Garbage", meaning it doesn't work with Wine. If Ping Plotter works in a similar way, using similar routines and libraries, I would assume it isn't going to work either.

There are many, many network diagnostics tools available for Linux, there isn't really a reason that I can see to be running either of those.

Have you tried the command line "ping"? Read about it on "man ping".
