I have heard about Wine, am considering it, any one have any tips or advice for this Linux infant who wants to play Starcraft on his Linux box? Id like to hear some pro's and cons. And if I do,, should I give it its own partition space? I will have it on my K6/2 500, 128M ram, 5gig drivespace running RedHat 7.3

I have very limited experience with wine but so far I've found that it can sometimes take a lot to get a program to run correctly in it. That said, I know that Starcraft will run on wine.

You do not need to give programs their own partition space with wine. What wine does is simulates a windows environment for the program on your existing linux filesystem. Usually, you'll set it up to show /home/[yourusername]/.wine/c as the C:\ to any windows program. This is one of the advantages of wine (other than the fact that it's free.

I had great trouble configuring Wine correctly (first compiling it from source then configuring to be more precise) and then when i got it to work it was slooow and crashed often. I got VMware to work much better, and it was faster as well, butwith it you have to run whole windows not only one program...
Just my personal oppinions, also you might want to check WineX since you want to play games over Wine. WineX has better DirectX support and you are much more likely to get the game going with WineX than normal Wine. I think the URL for WineX is transgaming.com, if not just search for it on google and you'll find it for sure.
