Wine???
Hey all, back with another stupid question.
My wine won't work. When I wine program.exe I get the message: wine config not found in current dir starting in windows directory And then i just get a message saying that the program im running doesnt exist. I know for a fact that it exists, and to check it i even use tab completion to make sure im not making any type errors. I also cant reinstall wine because the every version ive tried says there is a conflicting wine version. two questions: 1. How can I remove wine and reinstall it? 2. How can I configure wine once it's been installed i dont see any type of config program for it. thnx in advance |
Dude, have you done
man wine ? Also try: locate wine |more You will see a crapload of readme files already in your HD for perusal. I haven't used wine, but just doing those two things gave me a ton of info on it. If you installed it using RPM, you can just rpm -ev wine (as root) Cheers. |
We got a semi-successful Office2K under wine up last week. Only problem is that we can't get permissions to do save anything so even a file->open gives a permissions nag. I was able to install and config wine in about an hour or so just by perusing the man pages. Also the version I get came with a pretty little setup script - quite painless.
