windows will not allow partition to be rized

I have tried a few times to install Suse 10.1 on a my laptop loaded with Windows XP home NTFS, I defrag the drive and still Windows will not allow the drive to be resized I am thinking because of NTFS security .
I have read all the manuals I am thinking if this was a Fat32 partition it would be fine .
Is the only option I have will to wipe Windows love too but I have a few programs that I am using

Any suggestions will be of great help

thanks

I will still suggest Gparted, burn the CD somewhere else if you have to
My experience with Partition magic has not been reliable
