Cedega is a subscription based service, I don't believe you can use it without first paying for it. Of course their are easy ways around that, but its up too you to google for that as I don't think Im allowed to post anything of that nature here.

Cedega in itself is fairly low quality, they like to advertise on their website that its something better than it is. I had it a few months ago, just for testing purposes, and I was very dissapointed with it. I managed to get it too run some games like starcraft and some old DOS games I had, but nothing spectacular. It boasts being able to play world of warcraft normally, and that's the only success story I've heard.

If your a gamer, keep a windows partition avaliable for when your not doing anything important.

It would be maybe easier if you tell us what you've done so far. Just saying that you can't install games does not say much. I'm also confused whether you have Cedega installed or not ^_^.

Anyway, Cedega is not free (but it is _very_ cheap anyway). The source for Cedega is available freely through CVS, so you have to compile it yourself. If you, however have the .rpm for Cedega and don't know how to install it, check this thread out to learn how to install programs in Linux:

I never compiled Cedega myself, but a quick search on google for "Compiling Cedega" will bring a lot of HOWTO's for you. Search for them.

An alternative to Cedega is wine(which Cedega is built upon) and runs games fairly well with little tweaking. It is free and you won't need to compile anything (if you don't want to). Definitely worthy checking out. I used to dislike Wine, but lately, I've been having more luck with wine, so I don't have Cedega installed anymore. Wine's site:

Regards!
