windows file problem.

i am using FC4+KDE.
i have some file stored in windows D:/ When i mount the drive in /mnt/wind there are some files missing here but they are really in windows.I looked there the file is exist. But the buddy linux shows only the some files not some needed images in the windows.

What could be the reason for this missing files.I gave ls -a for all files.Still not comes.
Is this FC4 filesystem problem or what?

Some distros will read NTFS. If I understand correctly, NTFS support must be compiled into the kernel.

The best way to do this (IMHO) is to have a data partition, formatted FAT32. This is easily accessible (read-write) from either Windows or Linux.

Hmmm....This might have something to do with file or directory permissions.

Can you give us some more details on your setup? What are your various partitions and filesystems, and how are they mounted/linked from both Linux and Windows?
