Windows and Linux

I have Windows XP installed as my OS. I have just installed a second HDD. So I now have my master with XP and my slave for Linux.

I want to use XP as my main OS, but have the option to use XP or Linux when I turn my pc on.

So there are a few questions here:

1. What jumper settings do I need for the second drive, slave or master? remember that XP will be the main OS I use.

2. How do I install? I have the cd's for Redhat 9.0, so basicaly do I just put the 1st cd in, start pc then choose the second HDD for the install to begin on that drive?

im sure some Linux dude will be able to help!!

Thanks in advance

Put CD one in and start the install. It should set-up the dual boot automatically. There is nothing you need to do hardware wise. I think that RH installs Grub as a bootloader, that will let you choose between Linux and Windows when your PC boots. Actually it is after the BIOS gets don doing it's thing. Good luck.

If you want to have two drives, yes. I would set it up like this.

or

primary master = HD1
primary slave = CD
secondary master = HD2
secondary slave = empty
