Windows AD and Adding NIS Support

Greetings,
Learning Linux the hard way..
Am a windows admin been told i now support linux, since our linux chap left to go contracting.. so please be gentle, am keen to learn but never realised just how different.
.

Question Time.
I am trying to get kerberos authentication working on a new C6.8 build, i have read many docs on step by step process's however i have noticed a problem with my existing windows AD.. NIS is not installed, ie when i look at the unix tab for a server there are no selectable options.
According to MS you just add the service to a already existing AD environment. Am not comfortable with this as we have a rather complex AD environment with multiple domains.
Anyone have any words of wisdom or can point me to additional documentation on the subject.

Many thanks in advance

NIS is not used.

AD is a version of LDAP+Kerberos+named.

Depending on the distribution, the following may help: https://access.redhat.com/documentat...uide/pt01.html
