Windowing toolkit used by KDE?

I understand that GNOME uses GTK+. So what KDE is using?

I believe KDE uses Qt, but both desktops have the ability to run apps written for the other, thought with varying amounts of success. I use KDE, but some of my most used apps are GTK+ so I have a lot of the Gnome backend installed as well.
