window not entirely visible in the screen in ubuntu jaunty desktop
this may seem to be a weird one because i never myself encountered this problem.this new desktop i got, after installing ubuntu, does not automatically adjust the resolution.if i try to do it myself, the display window is so big that i cannot scroll down to the bottom.there is no way i can see the bottom half!!!!!!!i cannot move the window up and down.i can only resize it sideways.there are no bars i can scroll down.this thing totally freaks me out.how do i adjust my resolution so that my screen can capture the entire window???????

Hold the ALT key and grab the window anywhere and drag it until you can see what you need.

that did not work.i cannot drag it beyond the top panel.it gets stonewalled there..

You're not just grabbing at the title bar, are you? You can grab anywhere on the window. I've never came across a situation where it is limited by anything but the boundaries of the mouse pointer itself.
I just tried it myself, if I grab at the title bar, it stops at the top panel on my Xfce desktop, but if i grab about in the center of the window, it goes right past it. I do this quite often since I have a couple netbooks, many applications are made for at least 1024x768, since my screens are 1024x600 and 800x480, stuff gets cut off occasionally. |
hi that worked.thanks a lot man!!!!!!!cheers
