Window Minimised tab not shown
 

Probably an operator error !!!

when I minimise a window the tab for re-opening that window is nowhere to be seen. I tried switching between workspaces and also moving things around on the task panes. The question is where is the tab for re-opening the window supposed to go? and why is it not visible to me?

I would be gratefull of simple instructions as I am only on day two of the Linux (unbutu) world !!

You're supposed to have a window list (like the task bar in Windows) on the bottom panel of the screen. It is possible that you right-clicked it and removed it and now you don't see the open windows anymore after you minimize them.

Try adding it again:
1) Right-click on the bottom panel and choose "Add to panel..."
2) Select the "Window List" applet and add it
