WIN XP And SUse 8.2 Pro

Here's my problem............Im dual booting XP and Suse however as most of us know Suse sets things up incorrectly so thru YaST I configured the menu setting under the boot configuration to properly boot into XP. Currently I can only boot into Linux, when I try to boot into XP it blinks at the boot screen and stays there....it just will not go into XP. I run XP on a 30gig hard drive and Suse on a 20 so there both seperate. I set up my menu config file like this:

map(hd0) (hd1)
rootnoverify(hd1,0)
chainloader +1
makeactive

Ive tried switching the makeactive and chainloader line around but to no success. I used this similar setup previously for this same setup but this time I cant seem to get them to jive right. In order to boot into xp I gotta disconnect my Suse drive.

One more........I like all the sound stuff on Suse 8.2 Pro but cannot get the drum machines and the like to work but I can get sound from games or xmms.......?????

Thanks in advance.

Suse sets things incorrectly? Who exactly knows this?
I've set up Suse with Dual Boot for WinXP, home and pro, and never had a single problem with suse picking up the boot up configurations perfectly.

Maybe the problem is you "Think" that its not settingit up right, and you should just let it do it its own way.

I did let it do it its way but it failed to work which lead me to try what I show above. Is your dual boot on one harddrive?
