Will Suse 9 handle a Motherboard change?
 

I have an MSI 648 Max and am going to switch to an ASUS P4C800E Deluxe. If I just switch it and boot back up, will Linux give me any hassle? I know when I switched to the MSI board Windows did not like me doing that at all! I basically had to do a fresh install.

Linux is far superior than Windows in this regard, as long as the kernel can properly recognise your hardware (which it does in most cases), you should be fine and don't have to do anything else other than changing the board.

metal i will tell you that when you make the switch
that you probably won't even recognize that a switch
was made .. it should boot up just like it did with
the old board (without hassle) ... unless the new board
has something that the older one doesn't such as a
firewire port that may not have support compiled into
the kernel, which is not a big deal ... but as far as booting
up it should be hassle free, but like i said little things may
spring up, which should be no problem to resolve .

amazing .... I thought linux would be MORE finiky about hardware changes - thats great to hear....
