Will I beable to run Battefield Vietnam, Reg. Bf, and Ventrilo?
 

My other comp was messed up and I am using linux now. I download Wine, but i dont know how to run it. And can someone help me exzaclty on how to use it?

you need to type wine and the executable you want to run with it, it has various options you can give it too

like ...

wine /mnt/cdrom/battlefield_install.exe

and you can pass it other options, you can do alot with wine but I don't think it provides very much in the way of directx support... you would be better off using cedega or a version of winex from transgaming to try and run one of thsoe games.

Wine is realy good for older 16 bit win95 erra stuff.

Cedega has good directx compatability with directx upto 8.1

it is kinda tricky to install games though, but if you REALY do not wan't to use windows anymore its the only way to go if you are a hardcore gamer and do not want to bow to M$

Cedega is worth the $5 or $15, because of the fact of the many games you can enjoy under Linux. My only wish is that either Punkbuster or Transgaming would fix the Punkbuster issues. Then it would be worth the money, that much more!
