Wifi connection problems in Mint?
Okay, so bear with me.. My friend suggested I attempt to switch to linux, considering I've been having problems with windows for a long time.
I have Linux mint 14 dual installed with my original windows 7 os. I can really only use the linux when I'm extremely close to my router, with it having really weak signal strength.. but I can use windows in my room that's at least like 30ft away and still have a really strong wifi signal. I've pretty much figured out the basics for just general operation.. but the wifi thing I don't know what to do about at all. Just perhaps to note, I've got extremely basic computer knowledge.. so maybe could someone try and help me via dumbed-down language? I'd really appreciate it. |
Hi!
And Welcome to Linux Questions. We'll need a little more information to help you. Your in a dual boot and have Windows 7 and Linux Mint 14. Got it- Congratulations on the Linux Mint Installation. Did you install Linux Mint on a Desktop computer or a laptop? If a laptop what kind; Lenovo? Toshiba? Sony Vaio? Asus? What kind of processor do you have; a dual core (Intel) or a quad core? And RAM or Memory? If you don't know I can look up your computer and read the specifications to find out. Quote:
