WiFi Adapater Not detected by the OS
 
Sir

I am using dell vostro 1510 laptop with dell wireless 1395 wifi card and I am using Backtrack 5 vmware image with vmware player directly on windows 7.

Sir my lan card is woking but my wifi card is not working at all.

please provide me a slution for this problem.

If it's a Dell, it's likely a Broadcom or possibly Realtek wireless chipset.

Try running the command "lspci" in a terminal and reporting what it tells you about the wireless chipset back here. That command should return the actual chipset the computer is seeing, without the Dell branding.

What sort of a network configuration have you for the VMware guest? Bridged, NAT, or what?

If VMWare offers the option (I'm more familiar with VirtualBox), I would suggest trying a bridged adapter and trying to bridge directly to the hardware wireless adapter.

I think the best option would be to run Backtrack natively on that hardware, either via the Live-CD or installed to the HDD.

Drviver error
 
ACTUALLY wiindows 7 is trying to installa driver "WAN MINIPORT(IKEv2)" from internet but it wont get installed successfully. what I should do next.
