WiFi Adapater Not detected by the OS

I am using dell vostro 1510 laptop with dell wireless 1395 wifi card and I am using Backtrack 5 vmware image with vmware player directly on windows 7. Sir my lan card is woking but my wifi card is not working at all. please provide me a slution for this problem. |
If it's a Dell, it's likely a Broadcom or possibly Realtek wireless chipset.
Try running the command "lspci" in a terminal and reporting what it tells you about the wireless chipset back here. That command should return the actual chipset the computer is seeing, without the Dell branding. |
What sort of a network configuration have you for the VMware guest? Bridged, NAT, or what?

If VMWare offers the option (I'm more familiar with VirtualBox), I would suggest trying a bridged adapter and trying to bridge directly to the hardware wireless adapter.

I think the best option would be to run Backtrack natively on that hardware, either via the Live-CD or installed to the HDD.

Drviver error
ACTUALLY wiindows 7 is trying to installa driver "WAN MINIPORT(IKEv2)" from internet but it wont get installed successfully. what I should do next.
