Why won't my usb speakers play any sound?

I have the latest puppy wary distro installed on an IBM Thinkpad lap top. The IBM model number is 1830BUU. I just bought some small usb speakers and can't figure out how to get them to play. The speakers on the IBM play fine. Can someone explain how to configure the usb speakers?

The issue with USB speakers is that they often have their own sound card built into the USB connection, which needs a driver. You may want to start by looking up that model of USB speaker and see if there is support for Linux.

hello,
I would check the result of lsusb.
Then search if the drivers are supported by alsa.
Then install.
It seems that you need a winter time for making it working...;-)
