Question why ping is showing another IP?

Hi,

Ive hosted my site on a dedicated server. when I saw the IP addresse assign to that server, its showing 1.2.3.4. means my site is hosted on this IP. but when I ping to my site from other pc (from my home pc) , its showing some other IP, say 1.2.3.9

How its happening? I also tried mtr to my site and my original IP (which is assigned to server) is not in the route). Is it something related to subnetting etc. I'm not sure. Plz help me.

Thanks

JC

you need to define "showing" better and such... what do you actually mean? most common your physical box will have a private ip address and so is source natted to a public one elsewhere to make it reachable...
