Why Not?
Just wondering, I have a 14" monitor from '99. Most sites I've looked at say that If I've set my monitor to 800 x 600 pixels, and keep my color 24 bits or less, I should have no problems. However, I've read some sites that say a 14" monitor won't work. Why on Earth wouldn't it? I still have a little time to order a new monitor, so please tell me if I would be likely to have problems, and if I should order a new monitor so our home computer doesn't need my office monitor or has to sit idle until we get another.

no reason at all.... where did all this come from? maybe you have information you're not telling us?
and *please* use useful thread titles, thanks |
Well, Lindows, and Lfriendly say that my monitor should work if I set the right resolution, etc. on the monitor, which I have done in advance. However, at two websites, whose names I can not remember I read that old 14" monitors may not work. Now could they mean so old they don't have the ability to use the right resolution? I don't know, but if I get my webstation and my monitor doesn't work, it will mean I'll have to wait while they ship another one.

1999 is not old..! you shouldn't have any problems at all, apart from the fact that you chose a crap distribution to try ;-)
