Why is my PC work without any soud?
 

I've installed Mandrake Linux 9.2 on my PC. My mainboard is Intel 845EBG2. It's intergrated with AC'97 sound. I bought a new one, Xwave soundcard.
In HardDrake, it can found both of them: AC'97 and Xwave sound card, but I can't hear any thing from my PC. please help me. Thanhks

You might have to set the volume using either application: kmix or aumix

Another possibility: your users don't have the permission for sound. You can check this by playing a sound as root. As the sound works for the root, you must add your users to the audiogroup:

adduser audio $user

(not sure of the order, take a look at the manpage first, cause it could be "adduser $user audio" too)
