Why I can’t perform the assisgnments in Linux server?

Hey guys,

I wanna introduce myself first to everyone: my name is Artin, I am 30 years old and I am new at this site.

My question is how can I carry out the Assessment Test assisgments in my Linux server ubuntu?

Question 1. The following line appears in your X server’s mouse configuration area. What can you conclude? Option “Protocol” “PS/2”

I have tried to practice it but it doesn’t work at all, the things what I have input doesn’t get it so I am bogged down.

I hope to get a solution so that I can proceed!

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards

Artin

Have you gone to the mouse configuration to see what does show?

It is not clear what you practiced and what doesn't work. Can you clarify?

Did you configure a PS/2 mouse? If yes: PS/2 is an old technology rarely used nowadays, your mouse is probably connected with USB, and I would not be surprised if you could not use it.

I don't believe "practice" is a term that can be applied to the question presented, unless you know what PS/2 means, and have a suitable mouse. A read of https://www.x.org/releases/X11R7.0/doc/html/mouse4.html might help you decide how to respond.

You mean in xorg.conf? I would conclude that someone ran an X configuration program that added that deprecated boilerplate. I would then remove it.

Practice what? It’s simply asking you to answer a question…the config file says this…what can you conclude from that…?

No, I am not able to use the mouse only I can work with the terminal.

Is it clear my answer?

You can conclude that the mouse isn't plugged in to a usb socket.

I will explain it, wait maybe it was a wrong question because it was of a assesment test but I don’t have a physical mouse connected with the pc.

Go back and read the question; think about what it's asking you. If you're still confused, you need to ask your instructor.

Sorry, but this is your schoolwork. You've been given not only hints, but the actual answer...if you can't understand that, you need further guidance.
