Why I can't connect to internet at ubuntu 9.04

Hi there

I just installed the ubuntu 9.04 dual boot with my vista. My moderm works just fine. I got a very strong signal. The only problem is that the internet passwd prompt keep appear eventhought I enter the correct WEP passwd. I remember with the old 7.04 version, it has WEP hex key option which works fine(I guess that my key is a hex number). With the new version, it have only these options: WEP 40/128 ; WEP 128 bit ; LEAP ; Dynamic WEP.

You should not use WEP for anything. Any sufficiently motivated person can crack that. And by 'any sufficiently motivated person', I mean that I got interested in this one weekend in high school and was able to pull it off without problem, in full script-kiddie mode. Switch to WPA2 and this problem will likely go away without having to be solved.

Also, I don't think the word 'modem' means what you think it means. Wifi adapter?
