Why DOes PhPbb2 hate me ??
Cant Connect to database??? I am starting to sound like a broken record.
everyone says create database but they are not explicit enough on how to do this ive tried a few thing such as mysql> CREATE DATABASE ... seems like that dident do anything on the install.php screen i dont know what to enter for all of the options such as Hostname ?? ive been told Localhost dont seem to help.. database name ?? no idea what this means database password .. id assume once i have a DB name ill know the password ?
any suggestions would be appreciated before i freshly install linux into my fireplace..

one good reason to use PHPBB is because it is not 69$ for one year and like 399 for lifetime its free one less bill to shuffle around in my mess i got already.
any other software similar to php would be nice though that is free :P

Yeah, that wasn't much of a solution. Are you hosting yourself with your own database install or using an ISP's or other provider? phpbb is pretty straight forward. Hostname is the name of the machine your installing on. Usually localhost will work. Did you actually create a database and setup a username and password with full access to it like phpbb will require to install the tables and what not to function during their install? Any more details is helpful like always.
