As far as I know, there's no gui for changing mouse in Slackware. You have to hand edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf file, which is the main config file for xserver.
Here's how my mouse config section in /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. I have an Logitech's cordless optical trackman mouse.
# Identifier and driver
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "yes"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
If you want some interactive experience, try out following command
Check out various options there. You can use pkgtool to add/remove software and change some setup configuration.
You have to execute pkgtool as root.
