why can't I mount my cdrom drive on desktop?

When I put a cd in the drive and close the tray I get a dialog box:

Quote:
cannot mount volume.
you are not priviledged to mount this volume.
But if I use the console and type in:
Code:
mount /dev/scd0
then it works everytime. I can do this but it would be better if the cd gets mounted automatically.

here's my fstab:

Code:
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# <file system> <mount point>   <type>  <options>       <dump>  <pass>
proc            /proc           proc    defaults        0       0
# /dev/sda1
UUID=7fbaa41e-4a01-4e9f-b1ea-52ba308beda4 /               ext3    relatime,errors=remount-ro 0       1
# /dev/sda5
UUID=a497b290-d628-444d-b12f-2a1e99c97c4f none            swap    sw              0       0
#/dev/scd0   /media/cdrom0   udf,iso9660 user,noauto,exec,utf8 0       0
/dev/scd0    /media/cdrom  auto   noauto,owner,ro  0   0
#/dev/sdc1   media/backdrive  ext3   defaults    0  0
/dev/sdb1    /media/backdrive   ext3   defaults    0  0
Can anyone help with this minor inconvenience? Thanks in advance.

sfjoe, Thank you for your reply.

Code:
/dev/scd0    /media/cdrom  auto   user,noauto,owner,ro  0   0
I think this is what you mean. I will try that.

Thanks again.
