who command question
I am running Fedora Core 1 and loving it. I am not going back to windows anytime soon. I have a quick question. Why is it that the who command on the teminal returns this output, I have not logged in two times so why is it? does any one know?
Here is what it prints to the screen [malique@hercules]$ who malique :0 Mar 21 15:26 malique pts/1 Mar 22 00:14 (:0.0) and the uptime command will show this 2 users: [malique@hercules]$ uptime 00:36:07 up 9:11, 2 users, load average: 0.39, 0.48, 0.35 Ok hope one of you can let me know what is up with this thanks. |
Actually you are logged in twice, it will show up each time you run a terminal or X session as its using a tty, etc.
One of those is for the terminal your running and the other the X session your running. Try opening another terminal and running who or uptime and it will then tell you that you logged in 3 times. Its just how it works really and nothing really to worry about. |
Thank you
