which ubuntu-10.04

Hi
I run a m/c with an Intel P8700, dual core, 64 bit processor.
my usage is general but I write and use Pascal and other programs.
I am having significant problems, raising the query of
which version of Ubuntu-10.04 should I use?
gtwaby

I have loaded 10.04. During the boot a message appears very briefly.
Occasionally I see "unknown processor" prompting the question.

Which version of Lucid? Lucid is in itself a version of Ubuntu? Do you mean 32 bit or 64?
I have a 64 bit processor but use 32 bit Ubuntu.
If you do not have any specific requirements for either, anything will do fine.

Either 64-bit or 32-bit should work. If you have more than 4 GB RAM, go for 64. If you have less, just go with the old 32.
