Nvidia supports Linux.. i have geforce 4 and it works excellent with linux.

If you insert modules parport and parport_pc, you might Have a head start on the printer. Everything may fall into place after that. Many times a kernel will not include the parallel port out of the box. I had that trouble when I had Debian installed. Dunno much about Redhat, but they don't stray too far from the norm. Good luck.
