Which Linux Distro For Slow PC?

Good Evening Guys! I Am Currently on a Cyrix 200MHz CPU running 256 of memory.

And My Question is, Which Distro Will Run Perfectly On That Configuration?

I Just want Smooth Running Linux Distro And FAST!

Any Suggestions? Please Explain, I'm New at this.

Thanks!

I would put debian into it.

really, any decent distro would work, it's more a matter of what window manager you use... you'd want something light, as you don't have much cpu power...

i'd recommend slackware, as it's my favorite distro... it (and most distros) comes with several light window managers... blackbox, fluxbox, xfce, etc...

but then again it's really not a distro matter...

of course there ARE distros made specially for running on old hardware, such as deli linux:

Debian, Libranet (same as Debian, but more user-friendly..) and Slackware would be really nice on it ;). Just forget about big desktop environments such as KDE or Gnome. It will run, but it's performance won't be the greatest. Give Fluxbox, Blackbox or XFCE a shot...

Been checking Deli linux, it looks pretty sweet. I'm not sure why, but I really enjoy working with old computers, so I will give Deli a shot in my 166 MHZ. Thanks for sharing win32sux!

Ok Guys, Thanks For Your Suggestions.

I'm Currently Downloading Fedora Core 2. And One Of You Guys Said That Is Matter of Which Distro, Just Window Manager. So, How do I install a new window manager which is light?

Thanks!

It usually comes with a lot of Window Managers to choose from the disks. You will see it when installing Fedora ;). I think Fluxbox and XFCE are good ones to try out, but they are very different from what you are used from Windows. If you want something more Windows like to start with, IceWM is a good choice... ugly I tell you, but fast and good enough ;)
