which is better 'scilab' or matlab for working on image processing stuff?


So i am currently working on Ubuntu 11.04 which has scilab a similar tool to Matlab in windows ,
So i was asking which one is better to work on as far as my project area is concerned i would be requiring it for image processing.

Matlab is better in image processing.
