Which is best server monitoring (Traffic ) tool ?

Hi friends,

Which is best server monitoring (Traffic ) tool ?

Can you provide some form of monitoring on this server or recommend any server-side applications that could monitor the status, in high detail, including traffic, etc?

Thanks,
Ramesh

"best" for what? It depends on your requirement. I'm using Ganglia and integrating with Nagios to alert.

Read the OP's question. He's not asking about what is the best distro for a server, he's asking what is a good server MONITORING tool.

Mandriva wouldn't be a good choice for a server, and neither would Ubuntu (unless you used Ubuntu Server Edition).

Please don't continue to give bad advice.

There's a lot of server monitoring using opensource
but for me I recommend nagios which you can monitor traffic of your network and more.

Ubuntu is best to install nagios.

For server monitoring some of the widely used open source tools are nagios and ntop
