@ tommcd- SuperOS is just ubuntu with lots more stuff installed. Zorin is ubuntu based again, but its got WINE and an easy way to make the interface look like windows (win7 and XP, with Win2000, vista and macOSX with the purchase versions)

I am also interested in Zorin 4 to use in an HP nc2400. Any problems I should know about with either of these ?
SuperOS shouldplay DVDs 'out of the box'. Zorin...er..i dont know. It looks like it doesnt, but maybe the versions you have to buy (opps, 'donate to download') might. Not that getting any distro I've ever used to play DVDs is that hard.
With laptops/netbooks its really hard to say if yuo will have problems. The manufacturer could have several different setups.
Depending on the model, you could have issues with the wireless. RAM could be an issue as well, newer ubuntu (and ubuntu variants like Zorin and SuperOS) like 1GB or more. Looking at the spec sheets for those laptops, some of them at least came with 256MB/512MB. 512MB should run, 256MB might not.
spec sheets in case anybody else wants to see-
