Which Distro is best for my hardware?

I want to switch to linux, but I have had too many problems trying to install my nvidia ion onto Ubuntu. I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a system that is simpler to setup my hardware.

If you opt for the proprietary driver, it will install a couple programs that you may find very useful. nvidia-xconfig and nvidia-settings. The nvidia-xconfig program will write an xorg.conf file for you. The nvidia-settings will put an icon in the tray. You can set up dual monitors, adjust the gamma, select the resolution and save your settings to your xorg.conf file.

I'm not familiar with your card. Try the nvidia site to see if you can use the regular driver or need a legacy driver.

Umm, the reason I posted this is that I am having incredibly HUGE problems with my video card detection. the ION is a motherboard version of the geforce 9400. After I was finally able to get a nvidia driver installed, it still didn't do opengl. I wanted a list of some other distros that would hopefully work better while still being fairly well backed and useful for things like gaming.
