Which distro?

I think I got this in the right place, but if not, feel free to move it, mods.

The question is which distro should I use on a computer I recently obtained for free from a school. It has 64 MB RAM, a 200 MHz Intel processor, and a 420 MB hard disk drive. And of course CD and FD drives.

Just wondering if anyone here could suggest such a distro, preferably one with at least a little bit of a GUI. Thanks in advance.

DSL.
It would run really fast on that machine, here is their homepage: http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/.

By the way, if you do a search on LQ, you will find a LOT of these kind of posts, even with the exact same subject. You are new so don't feel bad about it  .

the above post is correct, I recently put it on a P1 with 32mb ram and ran very well indeed, probably faster than our work laptops with redhat and mandrake on ;)

Regards
Richard

In addition, you should get ZIPSlack if possible. It will run fine:
TAKEN FROM: http://www.slackware.com/zipslack/
Quote:

ZipSlack is a special edition of Slackware Linux that can be installed onto any FAT (or FAT32) filesystem with about 100 MB of free space. It uses the UMSDOS filesystem and contains most of the programs you will need.
Anyways, as the name states, you will need a zip drive for this installation.
