Yeah, that would be like Monarch Computers, but to get what I wanted (including monitor) it hit over 1,000 bucks, I have a budget of about 800 bucks.
Firstly, sorry for the delay--out, about and away. No, I wasn't talking about Monarch. Ours is an AMD Athlon 64, 80 gig HD, floppy drive (sorry, but I've still got a lot of junk on floppies!), 16X DVD-ROM & 52x32x52 CD-RW combo drive, internal 6 in 1 flash media read/write, NVIDIA Geforce 6200 Graphics with TurboCache supporting 256MB 16X PCI Express Video Card, 512 MB PC3200 400MHz DDR Memory, and a few other goodies, all residing in a X-Cruiser, mid-tower case with an excellent cooling system, some nifty built in blue lighting (for the big window on the side) and the addition of green neon for......$555 bucks including the shipping. Is it perfect? No, I wish I'd jumped up the size on the HD and the DDR, but those are things that can be added to/changed later. No, it didn't come with a monitor--we had two floating around anyway and yes, I had to add an aftermarket (external) modem because the company we went through didn't offer a modem that would work. Everything else they had would and did. It did come with a keyboard and 3-button scroll mouse which was nice since I could get black to match the case. It's stylin', I like it and SuSE 9.3 works great on it. Take a look at what's available and then go take a look at your distro of choice's website(s) to see what's compatable and get yourself a nice system at a reasonable price.
