Without knowing how much data, what kind of media you're backing up to, in what kind of environment, there's no way for us to suggest anything. In your previous threads, you mention Samba, etc., and said that you were already using that to back up Windows data.
How so?? Do you have someone just WAITING to give you a job, until you prove you can set up a backup server??

For Amanda, read up here http://amanda.zmanda.com/ and be sure to check the wiki link at the very top edge of that page. Put your time and energy into learning and ask questions when you have something specific that you have tried to understand and are having difficulty with. Download the code and try it out. There is a quick start guide off the wiki, but you will have to do some reading beyond that.
