Question Where to get Wine for Mandrake Linux 9


I have Mandrake Linux 9 and i have looked for the Wine for linux 9 and all i find wont configure. I need to know where i can get wine that "works" Please Help me ASAP.

codeweavers wine is working in 8.2 should work for 9.0 to . but ya have to go to /usr /x11r6/ and find gmessage and ln-s gmessage xmessage .

you sure it didn't come with wine?
both versions of mandrake (7, and corpserv1) I have came with it.

I agree with dfctve_end_user. Wine is included into all Mandrake versions I have.

I also didn't find it in Mandrake 9.0 .

A better idea may be to go to the Wine web page and download from there - you'll get the latest files. Also the ones that came with Mandy are likely to not be at their best......

Depends on the version I believe? Mandrake PowerPack has it, but does the download edition?

Wine is on CD #2, but I would recommend that you go to Codeweavers and get
their version of Wine. It has a GUI setup tool that makes it easy to configure.

CodeWeavers CrossOver is a commercial product, but in general you'll find that it's a "wine that works". The WineHQ builds that ship with most distros are meant for developers only at this point.

CodeWeavers Wine is a separate product from the Crossover plugin and is free of charge.

No it's not. There is a free trial, but it most certainly costs money.
