Where to find Pre-installed Linux Desktops...

Hello:

I was hoping this forum could recommend some sites that sell pre-installed linux desktops and that specialize in linux-related hardware. I have done many searches and found only a few places that seriously deal with linux-hardware. One of them is elementcomputer (website). I know that IBM, Gateway , Hewlett-Compaq sell pc's with Linux pre-installed and few online retailers like TigerDirect.com sell a few Lindows-based desktops. But I was looking for a place where there's a more comprehensive line of linux hardware products. I already have older computer in which to try out my first distro but I am also looking to have a new machine running a couple more distros.

Thanks

You may as well just go all-out and build your own machine, then install your Linux flavor of choice. This way you insure complete knowledge of your system and lessen the chance of being hung-up during a difficult installation (should you choose to start with a more hands-on distro). You'll also avoid compatability issues (after checking this sites HCL, of course), and probably save some money.

I agree... if you intend on doing anything with linux later on, you are going to have to at least be able to get thru the install... most distros (suse exclued!) are a breeze to install, and hardware compatibility problems are really a thing of the past... if you run into prob, simply using another distribution will likely circuvent your problem..
