Where the hell's the floppy disk drive!?
Hello!
Total linux newbie! Using Red Hat 7.3 and Gnome and trying to install a network card with drivers on a floppy disk - only thing is, I can't work out how to access, what windows calls, the A drive? Please help me people! Thanks Simon |
do this "less /etc/fstab" and look for a line that days /dev/fd0 and a other directory to the side mine says /mnt/floppy/ then quit with the letter "q" and do this mount /mnt/floppy and go to that directory and it should be it

Is this a fresh install? Are there any entries under /mnt?
To mount the floppy, type "mount /mnt/floppy". Then use cp or mv to move files to and fro. Before ejecting the disk, type "umount /mnt/floppy". John |
Thanks boys - does the job nicely :)
