Where is the Mandrake 9.0 Kernel?

Hi, this maybe a completley silly question to more experienced linux users out there but it is one that this idiot needs answering so i will ask it anyway.

I am trying to install a newer versio of the ALSA driver so i can use some audio applications. I have been following the instuctions of how to install them but I get several problems one of with is this following error:

checking for directory with kernel source... /lib/modules/2.4.19-16mdk/build
checking for kernel version... The file /lib/modules/2.4.19-16mdk/build/include/linux/version.h does not exist.
Please, install the package with full kernel sources for your distribution
or use --with-kernel=dir option to specify another directory with kernel
sources (default is /usr/src/linux).

So, my question is, where ARE my kernel sources? I would be thankfull if anyone could help.

Install the package "kernel-source" from Mandrake's CD.

You're a gem, thanks for that. Theres one more question at this point however. There are two versions of the kernel source that I have an optio to install.

kernel-source-2.4.19-16

and

kernel-source-2.4.19-35

I assume that I have to use the version that is actually in use on my system and I also assume that this will be the newer version. But how do I double check what version is actually in use?

The command:
uname -r

:)

Cool

Thats brilliant, thanks for the help.

I still have a few problems to get help with but I will start a new thread as they are slightly off topic.

Cheers
