Where is System Default Font Defined?

Hi, I have noticed that a great many of the older X applications (example, xftp) use a default system font for their menus and dialogs. On my system, this font is uncomfortably small, and I would like to find where it is defined and increase its size. It looks like a 7 or 8 point font, and on my display, I need about a 10 pt. font to be comfortable to work with.

This is particularily of interest now that I have installed some Fox-based programs (XFileExplorer - FABULOUS one, two, or three pane file manager) and have gotten several Fox "freebies" with them, like their excellent "calculator". All of them seem to use the same default font, and because it is so small on my display, using them is somewhat painful.

Does anyone know where the system's default font is set, and how to change it?

Thanks!

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
